Keith Wallach - Olympus Wildlife Photographer
Keith_Olympus-20.jpg

Keith is an immensely talented up-and-coming wildlife photographer based on the Norther Oregon Coast. He had the opportunity to use the brand new Olympus M.Zuiko 150-400 PRO before it was released to the public and had me come out with him on a shoot to create some images and motion for the article that would accompany his review.

In addition, we made some lifestyle images for his own Website and social branding that show him right in one of his favorite places to capture incredible wildlife images.

There’s nothing quite like being hired by a talented photographer to document how they make their art.

I’ve got a pretty fun project I’d love to share.  I Recently had the opportunity to work with a local company to photograph their entire product line in the studio.

That company just happens to be Lensbaby!

They came to me with one main request. They needed a super consistent look across the line that considered respective scale, lighting, and branding.   I was incredibly grateful to work with Keith Wallach, the in-house graphic designer at Lensbaby.  There’s truly no better assistant and sounding board than the guy who builds all of their Digital assets and marketing materials!

It’s also great timing as they have just started a big sale for the holidays, so if you have any of their lenses or light bending tools in mind, now’s a great time to go check them out!

Thanks for the trust and confidence in my work Lensbaby team!

Columbia Credit Union

Telling the Community Story

Ethereal+Meads-23.jpg

I had the pleasure of working with Columbia Credit Union on two different projects this spring. The first was a video project headed by my long-time friend Travis Shields. I provided still images for a new campaign focused on a great selection of clients and the phrase "Making Life Better".

What a great crew, interesting clients and fantastic Pacific Northwest Spring Weather!

We spent three days filming the story of 2 businesses and one 2nd generation family that has grown up with the Credit Union.

The first day was spent with Ethereal Meads, a husband and wife team that craft mead from local honey and fruit on rural land north of Vancouver.

The next day we spent the morning at a credit union branch filming an interview and then the afternoon at Franko's Dog Grooming seeing this second generation business do their thing with beloved pets/family members.

And on the final day of our project, we spent the whole day with the Marsh family, at their home and then at a local park. We heard about how they each had their own relationship with the Credit Union growing up and then merged accounts when they married and started a family.

It's been so fantastic seeing these short spots hit the credit Union's social media and I'm so happy to have been part of making it happen.

Marmoset Music

Finding the Perfect Soundtrack

Marmoset Music is a Portland based music agency, that specializes in finding, sourcing and creating music for film, commercials and pretty much anything that needs an amazing soundtrack!  They have an exceptional team of talented people doing everything from composing original scores to negotiating licensing and working with clients to find just the right piece of music.

They have a great website with really engaging stories and video content and wanted to add some "day-in-the-life" images of their staff, their engaging space and the creative work they do.  I spent a few hours capturing the spaces and people they had in mind and we also let spontaneity have a turn behind the wheel!

While I was there, one of the amazing artists - Graham, was composing music in real-time while watching the visuals for a new ad campaign.  To me, this moment captured so much about what makes Marmoset special.

Bishop Content Studio

Veronica is a multi-talented consultant that does everything from personal organizing to Social Media Content creatiion, and she does all this while orchestrating the administrative tasks of another business as well.  I've had the pleasure of working with her for a couple of the other companies she works for so when she told me she was starting her own business I couldn't wait to help her with new images to kick things off!

Not only is Veronica a natural in front of the camera, she has a great, home filled with beautiful natural light! There are so many great spots to capture exactly the type of mood and energy she brings to every client.

I can't wait to see Bishop Content Studio take off!

“I have worked with Dan on multiple occasions as a business photographer. Each photo shoot has demonstrated his ability to listen, ask the right questions about the brand, and get it right every time. His ability to find the beating heart of a business and bring it forward in photography is what sets him apart, not to mention his easy, straightforward manner and honesty. I would highly recommend Dan if you want to take your business to the next level by demonstrating what you do and who you are as a brand.”
